Design requirements include soil compaction, design pressure, stresses, thickness of metal, seam strength and minima for metal thickness and cover. Installation requirements include foundation preparation, plate assembly, backfilling, and corrosion protection. Appendices tabulate cover limits and bolting for railway loading (M250) and highway loading (T44-A14) for the various structures.
