This document specifies the ANSI/TIA/EIA-41-D network impacts of Number Portability (NP), specifically service provider portability, as mandated by the FCC in Docket No. 95-1 16. Service provider portability is the ability of end users to retain the same telephone numbers whenever the end users change from one service provider to another.
