SSPC Paint 39 can be used to establish minimum performance requirements for a thin-film aliphatic polyurea topcoat that can be used over compatible corrosion-prevention primers or intermediate coats to provide protection from ultraviolet light (sunlight). Because it is a topcoat standard, its performance requirements focus on color and gloss retention and physical film properties.
