1.1This specification covers bars, billets, and blooms of bearing-quality steel to be used in the manufacture of highly loaded anti-friction bearings.

1.2Supplementary requirements of an optional nature are provided and when desired shall be so stated in the order.

1.3The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system are not necessarily exact equivalents; therefore, to ensure conformance with the standard, each system shall be used independently of the other, and values from the two systems shall not be combined.
