Specifies requirements for establishing an effective quality management system applicable to software. Includes procedures for the specification, design, implementation and evaluation of a quality system which will allow the development of software in a controlled manner so as to instil confidence that it will meet the operational requirements. Aligns closely with Australian Standard AS 1821-23 and may therefore be considered suitable for adoption in parallel with hardware requirements. Cognizance has been taken of AS 1057 and NATO Standards.
