Specifies the procedures for procurement, acceptance testing and in-service testing of electromedical equipment, by hospital administrators, purchasing and engineering staff. The Standard emphasizes the need to determine whether equipment has been designed and approved against relevant type approval Standards, and also specifies tests that can reasonably be carried out in a hospital or health care facility. An appendix is included providing the rationale for the electrical tests specified. Other appendices include examples of acceptance and in-service testing reports which need to be completed.
