API Spec 14L provides the requirements for lock mandrels and landing nipples within the production/injection conduit for the installation of flow control or other equipment used in the petroleum and natural gas industries. It includes the interface connections to the flow control or other equipment, but does not cover the connections to the well conduit.This standard shall become effective on the date printed on the cover but may be used voluntarily from the date of publication. Upon the effective date, the requirements of this standard for lock mandrels and landing nipples supersede those given in API Specification 14A, Specification for Subsurface Safety Valve Equipment, Tenth Edition. Annexes A and B of this International Standard are for information only. This edition of API Specification 14L is an identical adoption of ISO 16070.
