"The requirements in this Standard apply to materials for the fabrication of air duct systems for use in accordance with the requirements of the National Building Code of Canada. The materials covered by these requirements include preformed lengths of flexible or rigid ducts, materials in the form of boards for field fabrication of lengths of rigid ducts, and preformed flexible connectors.
This edition includes reference to an Appendix which forms a mandatory part of this Standard. Appendix A provides further guidance on the mounting methods of test samples for the surface burning characteristics test as to ensure a uniform procedure where comparative information between similar products is required."
