This Standard is intended to verify that filling and flooding compounds will not flow from a filled fiber optic cable at stated temperatures.1
NOTE: Filling and flooding compounds minimize water penetration and assist in isolating fibers from outside environmental concerns.
1 For a similar test for other than fiber optic filled telecommunications cable, refer to the compound flow test of ASTM D4565-20.
