This Practice provides requirements for the performance of a geotechnical engineering investigation.

This Practice describes the minimum requirements for a geotechnical engineering investigation including subsurface exploration, field and laboratory testing as needed, analyses, and preparation of reports that present geotechnical engineering recommendations for design and construction.

This Practice does not include requirements for an environmentally related investigation or analysis.
