This document will provide a guideline which will enable the development of interoperable XML messaging based interfaces within the Unified Modeling Approach (UMA) domain. Since it is often difficult to get started with a complex schema design, especially when there is no previous experience, this document provides recommendations, benefits, disadvantages and rationale made by existing UMA applications. The underlying goal is to avoid having each UMA sub-team rediscover certain design considerations through costly trial and error.
