This Standard was prepared to assist manufacturers of tractors and implements in providing suitable means for connecting an implement to a tractor using a drawbar or a front or rear three-point hitch and for transmitting power from the tractor power take-off (PTO) to the implement.

The successful performance of a tractor-implement combination requires consideration of factors other than the dimensional relationships provided in the normative reference standards.
