Specifies safe working provisions and practices for those responsible for, and involved in, new lift installations in new liftwells.

The requirements relate to the safety of persons when entering and leaving the work area on a lift installation and while working there; they also relate to the safety of others in the vicinity, whether working or not, who may be endangered by the actions of those working on lifts.

NOTE: The Standard that applies to a particular type of lift will specify additional requirements.
