Bolts procured to this specification are intended for use in tension applications which require a bolt with 260 ksi strength and high fatigue strength and not intended for use in applications greater than 450 °F. These bolts should be used in conjunction with high strength nuts in accordance with MIL-N-8984.

This specification covers external wrenching, tensile and shear bolts. The bolts shall be used in applications where temperatures are not greater than 450 degrees F.
